How it all began

In Melbourne 1978 our much loved family dog, a wonderful bitser called Tonda, was shot while passing through a sheep property. He was after a bitch in season. Since we were moving to a new property that had Stud Sheep next door we thought it would be a good idea to get a breed that no one would ever dream would attack sheep. After much thought we decided on a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

Dudley came into our lives and immediately took it over. True to the wonderful temperament of this special breed he was the only dog that was allowed on our new neighbours property!
He was not the best marked Cavalier but he was very sound and had the most fantastic temperament. I was hooked on Cavaliers, and soon was hooked on dog shows.

In 1988 I moved to Western Australia with 3 Cavaliers.

1989 saw the arrival of my first Clumber Spaniel Ch. Erinveine Noteworthy. "Note" came from the world renowned Clumber kennel of Jan and Helen Irving.

Bowhouse now has grown to about 10 Cavaliers and 4 Clumbers.

I became a licensed Gundog Judge in 1997 and I am planning to do other Groups in the future.

Dudley (Duffton Angus McTavish) at 8 weeks of age.
