Multi (Single) - Channel Data Logging Systems
Data Logger with 2-Axis Accelerometers
The 8 channel data acquisition system has been specially developed to log data from 2-Axis accelerometers for the test on an offshore facilities.
Although built to log data from accelerometers, this system can be used to acquire data from any other analog sensors in the range of 0 to 4096mV at 1mV resolution.
Each logger has two independent 12bit
Analog-to-Digital converters and can be also used in other systems where the ASCII command/response protocol is implemented.
The main features of the system are listed below.
- 8 fully independent Data Loggers, failure of one or more data loggers (for any reason) during data acquisition will not affect the data logging process.
- Ability to acquire data up to 50 samples per second in standard mode (to the capacity of the Host Computer Hard Drive), or 64 samples per second in Auto Mode (to the capacity of DataRam, approximately 16 minutes).
- User-friendly software based on LabView for Windows 95, easy to install and run for both the main and backup computers.
- 8 channel high speed RocketPort Multiport serial card fitting into a 16-bit ISA slot off a personal computer. All series controller interfaces support the RS-232 standard.
- 8 channel RS-232-to-RS-485 converters and independent power supplies enclosed in a rugged ABS enclosure with 8 RS-232 connectors and 8 dedicated for each data loggers 4pin connectors.
- Data loggers are enclosed in the black anodised underwater tubes specified to 100MSW and tested up to pressure of 200m immersion in water. As an umbilical between Data Logger and the power distribution/code conversion unit the 4-core shielded, water blocked cable is used.
- High speed Radio Modem , the RFI 9115, between the Master and Backup computers operating at up to 115kbs, in this application the speed is 57.6kbs, half duplex.
